Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for someone to assist in the production of dessert items for the restaurant as well as our private party/banquet space. You will be assisting the pastry chef in the prepping, mixing, baking, finishing, and plating of desserts. You will be working with the pastry chef and also on your own, so we are looking for someone who can work independently, as well as in a team setting. Skills Attention to detail Ability to stand for long periods Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Handle food preparation tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and assembling baked items efficiently Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including mixers, ovens, piping tools, and other baking appliances Support cake decorating and pastry presentation to ensure visually appealing products that meet quality expectations Assist in preparing a wide range of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, cookies, and bread, following established recipes and standards Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety standards, proper sanitation practices, and organization of tools and ingredients Previous experience in food production or bakery settings is highly preferred Demonstrated skills in pastry preparation, cake decorating, and baking techniques Familiarity with food handling safety protocols and food safety management systems Experience operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and piping tools Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic math for accurate measurements and recipe adherence
