Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Banquet Cooks primary role is to assist in preparation of cooking and presentation of meals in the banquet space. They are responsible for cooking meals for various sized banquets for Big Cedar Lodge. Banquet Cooks will be scheduled as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans, monitors and assists with food production and ensure its quality and consistency during preparation and service execution. Provides exceptional guest service through careful execution and immaculate presentation of food and beverage. Monitors guest consumption levels and respond accordingly. Assists in daily kitchen operations and ensure its culinary readiness for service. Assists in developing menu in collaboration with Banquet Chef as needed. Assists in monitoring all food production and ensuring all recipes are constantly followed. Puts effort in optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality. Ensures adequacy of supplies at all cooking stations. Ensures all kitchen equipment is in good working order. Models and promotes good working relationships with Front of House managers and staff. Attends pre-shift with service and kitchen staff to communicate menu changes and any operational challenges.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 year culinary background. S trong cooking background and have experience with large volume.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, Outlook Basic Computer Skills- using basic hardware and software Ability to stand for extended period of times Ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects

5% or less
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regular walking, standing, lifting up to 50lbs, bending, stooping, working with hands, etc.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT
: Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
