Job Description

The Chi chapter of Tri Delta at the University of Mississippi is actively looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist with all of our chapter meal preparation and maintenance of the kitchen to create a premier living and dining experience for Tri Delta's members. The ideal candidate will be an eager waiter or restaurant staff member who is highly self-motivated with great attention to detail. The role will be responsible for helping prepare the evening meal service while keeping the kitchen clean and washing dishes. Excellent work environment and mission driven culture Daytime working hours to be confirmed with supervisor Typical schedule: Monday-Thursday 4pm-8pm up to 20 hours per week Paid Holidays Benefits for Part-time Employees including Retirement, Life Insurance, and access to Tri Delta's Dental, Vision, Critical Illness, and Accident Insurance Work only when the university is in session Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Kitchen Management Promptly notify the supervisor and/or house director of any maintenance problems or unsafe conditions in or around the kitchen Properly care for supplies and leftovers Assist in meal preparation Assist in checking and the storage of food and supplies that are delivered to the chapter Notify supervisor and/or house director of any accidents or injuries while on duty, immediately Cleaning & Sanitation Assist in cleaning kitchen supplies and utensils Assist in taking out trash daily Assist in washing dishes after each meal Assist in cleaning the kitchen daily Administrative/General Responsibilities Observe kitchen and chapter rules, as determined by the chapter and house director Refrain from the use of alcohol or drugs in and around the chapter territory Maintain a professional relationship with all chapter members and residents, employees, and volunteers Perform general duties as assigned 0 to 2 + years of related experience. Possesses skills to operate a computer including web browsing, email, and Office products. Meet specified physical requirements of lifting no more than 40 lbs, standing on the tile floor for long periods of time, and use of hands to handle and control tools. Ability to speak and read English. Ability to model, teach, and promote Tri Delta's employee values. Ability to use proper discretion and independent judgment in carrying out the primary roles and responsibilities of the position.
