This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. As a Kitchen Helper, you will support chefs and kitchen staff by assisting with meal prep, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen workflows. Duties Assist with food preparation tasks including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards Operate basic kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and knives with proper technique and safety precautions Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment in compliance with food safety regulations Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of stock levels or shortages Follow strict food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety management practices are upheld Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations during meal service Experience Previous experience working in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques within a food industry setting is preferred Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is essential Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments is required Restaurant or catering experience demonstrating proficiency in meal preparation and food handling is advantageous Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members are necessary Basic culinary skills including knife techniques such as slicing and dicing are important for success in this role
