Kitchen Assistant Southport Trinity United Methodist Church Southport, NC Job Details Part-time $15 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Teamwork Lifting Dependability Food service experience Full Job Description Overview Southport Trinity United Methodist Church is seeking a dependable, energetic, and team-oriented Kitchen Assistant to help support our weekly Wednesday dinner ministry. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience for our church family, children, youth, and guests. Working alongside the kitchen team, the Kitchen Assistant will help ensure that meal service runs smoothly from preparation through cleanup. Responsibilities Assist with setting up serving stations for dinner service. Prepare beverage stations and keep them stocked throughout the evening. Set tables and prepare the dining room before guests arrive. Prepare and cook simple, kid-friendly menu items as directed. Serve meals to guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Assist with replenishing food during service. Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas and food preparation surfaces. Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room floors. Remove trash and recycling at the end of service. Help clean up after large groups of children and teenagers. Assist the volunteers with any additional tasks necessary for a successful Wednesday evening meal program. Qualifications Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions. Food service experience is required. A heart for serving others and supporting the ministry of the church.
