Job Description

Overview We are a small, family-owned community business built around food, culture, people, and the feeling of bringing everyone together around a table. We care about the food we serve, of course, but we care just as much about the experience we create and the relationships we build—with our guests, our community, and each other. Being a small business also means every person on our team matters. You won't be one employee among hundreds. Your work, your ideas, your energy, and the way you treat people have a real impact on what we are building. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of that. You don't have to come to us knowing everything. We actually love people who are curious, willing to learn, comfortable asking questions, and open to doing things a new way. Experience is valuable, but for us, attitude, responsibility, humility, and the desire to grow are just as important. We appreciate people who notice the little things. Someone who sees that something needs to be cleaned, restocked, prepared, or helped with and doesn't always need to be asked. Someone who takes pride in doing things well, who can laugh and enjoy the day with the team, but also understands when it's time to focus and get things done. If you're looking for a place where you can learn, contribute, grow, and feel that the work you do actually matters, you may feel at home here. Paid training is provided. What You'll Do As part of our kitchen team, you'll help us keep things moving smoothly while maintaining the quality and care we want our guests to experience.
Your responsibilities may include:
Helping with preparation, plating and following presentation standards Keeping your station and kitchen areas clean, organized, and stocked Washing dishes and helping with general kitchen cleaning when needed Running food and occasionally helping the front-of-house team Bussing or resetting tables when an extra hand is needed Receiving, organizing, and moving supplies Using our kitchen display/POS system to manage orders Following food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures Communicating with the rest of the team so orders are prepared accurately and on time Jumping in to help your teammates during busy moments The Person We'd Love to Meet Restaurant experience is great, but it isn't the only thing we're looking for. We'd love to meet someone who is: Curious and willing to learn. Someone who understands that none of us knows everything and isn't afraid to ask questions, learn from others, and keep improving. Responsible and dependable. We're a small team, which means we genuinely depend on one another. Showing up, communicating, and following through matter. Humble and open to feedback. We want people who can both share ideas and listen to others. We're all constantly learning. Attentive to the little things. The details matter—from the way a plate leaves the kitchen to how a station is left for the next person. Someone who takes initiative. You don't have to wait for someone to tell you every next step. You learn to see what the restaurant and your teammates need. A team person. Titles matter less to us than helping each other. When things get busy, everyone contributes. Kind and respectful. How we treat each other matters. We want Little Havana to be a place where people enjoy coming to work as much as we want our guests to enjoy being here. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills while contributing to a lively team dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences. We are committed to providing a supportive environment where your enthusiasm and dedication can thrive!
