Job Summary Join our vibrant culinary team as a Sushi Helper, where your enthusiasm and dedication will contribute to creating exceptional sushi experiences for our guests. In this role, you will support the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all sushi dishes meet our high standards of quality and safety. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help keep the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently, making every meal a memorable delight. Duties Assist chefs with preparing sushi ingredients, including slicing fish and vegetables using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Support food preparation tasks such as assembling rolls, portioning ingredients, and following recipes accurately Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to aid in meal production Help with food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices are followed Contribute to menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily service and special events Support the team during busy service hours by serving dishes and assisting with plating as needed Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or food service environment is highly desirable Experience as a dietary aide or in a restaurant setting is a plus Knowledge of food safety management and adherence to safety standards in production is essential Strong food handling skills with an understanding of proper sanitation practices Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Familiarity with culinary techniques such as slicing, food preparation, and recipe adherence Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and team members Kitchen or food industry experience demonstrating reliability and a passion for culinary excellence Join us in delivering top-quality sushi while fostering a lively, team-oriented environment! Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
