Job Description

The Pastry Assistant supports the pastry and culinary teams with the preparation, production, and presentation of desserts, baked goods, and other pastry items. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, cleanliness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. Responsibilities Assist with preparing desserts, pastries, breads, sauces, fillings, and garnishes. Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. Measure, mix, bake, decorate, and plate pastry items as directed. Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep lists. Maintain proper labeling, dating, storage, and rotation of all products. Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low. Keep the pastry station, equipment, refrigerators, and storage areas clean and organized. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergy procedures. Assist with banquet, restaurant, and special-event dessert production. Minimize waste and properly record any damaged or discarded products. Complete opening, closing, and cleaning responsibilities. Assist other kitchen stations when needed. Qualifications Previous pastry, bakery, or kitchen experience preferred. Basic understanding of baking techniques and kitchen measurements. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and presentation. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Reliable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
