Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Helper to join our school kitchen team. The Kitchen Helper will maintain the cleanliness and high level of safety in the kitchen by cleaning dishes, taking care of deliveries, take care of trash and deep cleaning when necessary. Will also assist with food prep if necessary and serving students and staff.

Duties:

• Deliveries, bring them in, inventory and store; must be able to handle 50
• 75 lbs regularly
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
• Deep cleaning of kitchen when needed
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Serve food to children and school staff at breakfast and lunch times
• Will be required to learn all positions in the kitchen and might be asked to fill in other positions when the kitchen is short staffed.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of food safety principles
• Understanding of various cooking methods and procedures
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively in a team environment

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Culinary training or relevant certification
• Experience in catering or food service industry
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and meal preparation for specific diets and NSLP
