PER WEEK

): TBD. Supermarket operates 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

JOB PURPOSE

Provides excellent customer service to deli customers through food preparation and interaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Fill and record customer orders, and compute bills using an electronic cash register Accept payment from customers and make changes as necessary Prepare daily food items using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures Select food items from serving or storage areas and place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in takeout containers Relay food orders to cooks as needed Clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas Notify kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders Communicate with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND

ABILITIES

): Experience in fast food customer service helpful Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and presentation helpful Interest in excellent guest services Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities Ability to multi-task Must be people oriented Excellent verbal communication skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be at least 18 years old Good customer service skills Good math skills Previous experience in fast food preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Deli setting in a supermarket; Shift work; Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime Standing/Walking, 100% up to 4 hours at a time Lifting up to 35 lbs. Exposure to heat and smoke from stoves Exposure to some cleaning chemicals Required to use and operate kitchen equipment and utensils Must follow safety precautions and requirements when operating or using equipment, utensils, and chemicals
