School Days Job Summary:
Forte Preparatory Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in receiving, organizing, and serving meals delivered by our food vendor, Regina Caterers. The role includes maintaining kitchen cleanliness and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This position is essential to providing nutritious meals to our students and staff in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and organize delivered meals from Regina Caterers according to the scheduled delivery times. Serve meals to students and staff in a courteous and timely manner. Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and organized, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and quality of food. Assist in the inventory and storage of food supplies and utensils. Count meals and input into tracking system on a daily basis. Collaborate with the operations team to maintain a positive and efficient work environment. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Director.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred. Food handlers license preferred. Otherwise, willingness to obtain certification within the first six months of employment. Spanish speaking preferred for communication with other staff. Basic knowledge of food safety standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to handle hot equipment and work in a kitchen environment.
Compensation:
