JOB SUMMARY
This job involves performance of moderately heavy labor in hand-washing pots, pans, dishes and utensils used in the course of preparing and serving meals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwasher or if necessary, by hand. Cleans steam kettles. Clean garbage cans with water or steam. May assist with prep activities; e.g. cleaning and preparing raw ingredients for cooking. Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas. Follow customer service guidelines to ensure customer satisfaction, demonstrated by a positive attitude and smile. Maintains professional appearance according to uniform procedures and standards. Demonstrates complete understanding of department policies and procedures and supports the department's strategic plan. Exhibits outstanding attendance and punctuality and takes corrective action to prevent any recurring absences. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others while avoiding conflict. Displays a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments by following the employee code of conduct. Directs lower grade and student employees as assigned. Performs any related job duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to lift in excess of 60 pounds.
