Position Overview Our Kitchen Culinary Specialist is a key support member of our Kitchen and Tasting Room Operations. This position requires a sequence of steps that involves food preparation, serving, cleaning, sanitation and general support to our five-star service experience. Key Responsibilities
- Works independently and in collaboration with our team to prepare a variety of winery menu items which includes but is not limited to gourmet charcuterie and cheese boards.
- Operates various kitchen equipment closely and follows safety operating protocols.
- Follows sanitary food handling and storage procedures.
- Performs cleaning tasks such as cleaning glassware, dishware, cookware and utensils.
- Keeps food preparation stations and adjacent areas sanitized and clean.
- Assist with ensuring that restrooms are clean, maintained and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Regularly monitors and ensures that all trash is removed from back-of-house and guest areas.
- Carries out other miscellaneous cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
- Maintains and upholds the cleanliness and image of the Tasting Room at all times.
- Assist with end-of-day closing duties to ensure the Tasting Room is ready for the next day's open.
- Work closely with all other staff members to create an environment that delivers exceptional guest experiences and fosters a harmonious and safe workplace.
- Assist with any other facility duties as needed. Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience in the restaurant, hospitality and or wine industry is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Feels comfortable and knows their way around the kitchen environment.
- Has a talent for creating visually appealing and beautifully presented dishes.
- Is organized and has a reputation for cleanliness.
- Has the ability to multitask.
- Having a general knowledge of wine varieties and styles is helpful.
- Exhibits excellent people skills and has the ability to make people smile.
- Experience with kitchen order systems is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Intermittently lift 40-50 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings is a must. Flexible schedule required.
- Desire to always go the extra mile to provide great experiences.
