Work Schedule:
Fridays through Tuesdays 9:00am-5:30pm Join the Rescue Mission Team! The Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Kitchen Assistant to work on our Main Campus in Syracuse. The Kitchen Assistant helps with meal preparation and serving. This position receives and retrieves food orders and donations, and maintains a sanitary food services environment by cleaning equipment, dishes, cooking pots, floors, walls. The Kitchen Assistant complies with Department of Health regulations, food safety procedures, inventory control and maintenance processes, as well as communicates daily with food services management regarding food donations and inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive and log food donations and deliveries; properly store items in coolers, freezers, or stockrooms Rotate inventory and remove expired or improperly maintained items to meet Department of Health food safety standards Clean and sanitize food preparation equipment, tools, dishware, floors, walls, tables, and chairs Promote a safety-first culture by modeling safe practices and ensuring compliance with safety procedures Maintain regular and reliable in-person attendance Perform other duties as assigned Education Requirements / Previous Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Prior experience in a food services setting Other skills needed to perform effectively include: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation tasks. Participates as a team player to provide a high-quality meal service to guest and customers. Supports and complies with all organizational and Food Service Center values. Maintains a "safety-first" attitude at all times. Utilizes universal precautions and policies and procedures. Maintains guest confidentiality. Maintains employee-guest/client boundaries at all times.
Pay:
$16.00 per hour.
