Medical, dental, and vision available Rood is a chef-driven restaurant in Lakewood, and we're looking for a Pastry Assistant to join our team and work directly alongside Pastry Chef Kate. This is a hands-on role in a small, in-house pastry program, from pie to seasonal desserts and everything we dream up next. Some experience in pastry is preferred. But if you have real interest and a passion for learning, we'd still love to hear from you. We'd rather train the right person than pass on someone who genuinely wants to grow in this craft. What you'll do: Assist Pastry Chef Kate with daily prep and production Help execute desserts, pastries, and in-house pie Keep the pastry station clean, organized, and stocked Follow recipes and techniques with care and consistency What we're looking for: Some pastry experience preferred, but passion and willingness to learn count for a lot Reliability and a strong work ethic Attention to detail and pride in the finished plate Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and stay on your feet during service
