A Kitchen Staff assists with food preparation as directed by cooks, food supervisors or chefs. Cleans kitchen work areas and dishes. Prepares ingredients for dishes to be cooked, prepares beverages, and stocks salad bars or buffet tables.
To plan, prepare and serve meals to clients and residents that come to The Salvation Army for Soup Kitchen or shelter. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Prepare all morning and lunch meals. This includes, but is not limited to: Soup Kitchen, Shelter meals, Youth Program, Special Community Meals, Advisory Board lunch, Summer Food Program. Maintain Kitchen and kitchen office/storage areas. Maintain inventory of food supplies and paper goods. Provide Corps Officer with list of needed supplies for approval. Maintain, organize and clean food storage area. Supervise volunteers and shelter chores for food service work and clean-up. Ability to plan and produce balanced meals. Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work autonomously and multi-task Good assessment skills and ability to address difficult situations with authority and compassion A love and compassion for individuals seeking assistance from The Salvation Army Supervise volunteers to ensure proper procedures are followed. Supervise shelter residents in clean-up.

EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED Previous experience in commercial kitchen and/or preparation and execution of large feeding program
