On Demand Restaurant Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Kitchen Technician to join our team. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service, quality workmanship, and professional communication while servicing and repairing commercial cooking and foodservice equipment. If you enjoy troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, working independently, and helping restaurants keep their kitchens running, we want to hear from you. Position Summary The Commercial Kitchen Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing commercial cooking and foodservice equipment for restaurants, convenience stores, institutional kitchens, and other commercial foodservice facilities. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, including: Fryers Grills and griddles Commercial ovens and ranges Convection and combi ovens Steamers Holding and warming equipment Dishwasher equipment Toasters and countertop cooking equipment Other commercial gas and electric kitchen equipment Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas, and control systems. Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair solutions. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical/service manuals. Test equipment after repairs to verify proper and safe operation. Communicate findings, repair needs, and recommendations clearly and professionally to customers. Complete accurate work orders, service notes, and required documentation. Capture required photos and job information through company software. Verify warranty status and properly document warranty-related repairs and claims. Maintain company vehicle, tools, parts, and inventory. Follow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety requirements. Participate in the on-call rotation as required. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with customers and team members.
Requirements:
Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of commercial kitchen equipment service or related field experience . Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience diagnosing commercial gas and electric cooking equipment. Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various commercial kitchen environments. Ability to safely work around hot equipment, electrical components, gas-fired equipment, and other conditions commonly found in commercial kitchens. Preferred CFESA Certification or related commercial food equipment service certifications. Manufacturer-specific training or certifications. Experience servicing multiple brands of commercial cooking equipment. Experience with commercial refrigeration or HVAC equipment is a plus. Experience using field service software platforms.
