Our guests come to experience our attractions, enjoy dining in our food court, and shopping for souvenirs. Part of what makes our guests experience so amazing is the exceptional customer service our team provides. A Cook I is responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients. They perform various tasks to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This role involves supporting the Cook II by preparing ingredients, maintaining the kitchen, and ensuring that all items meet quality standards.Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Wash, chop, and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they are organized and easily accessible. Perform tasks such as parboiling food, reducing sauces, and preparing simple dishes like salads. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out the trash. Keep track of ingredient inventory and collaborate with kitchen staff to order resupply. Assist chefs and other kitchen staff with various tasks as needed. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Precision in measuring ingredients and following recipes based on company standards and expectations. Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions. Efficiently manage time and tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Requires stooping, bending, twisting, and scooping (wrist movement). Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Overhead lifting may be required.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; training from a culinary school is a plus.Experience:
