Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, chopping, and measuring according to recipes and standards Assist in food preparation tasks such as portioning, marinating, and assembling ingredients for cooking or plating Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools Maintain cleanliness of workstations by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly to meet food safety standards Support the culinary team with meal assembly and portion control to ensure consistency and quality Follow strict food handling procedures to uphold safety standards in production and prevent cross-contamination Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels or shortages Skills Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food safety management and adherence to safety standards in production environments Proven ability in food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe adherence Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively Experience in food service or restaurant settings demonstrating reliable food handling practices Effective communication skills to coordinate smoothly with kitchen staff and team members Knowledge of menu planning principles and meal preparation processes within the food industry This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their culinary skills while supporting a lively kitchen environment.
