We are seeking a Commercial Kitchen Technician to support kitchen operations by setting up, breaking down, maintaining, and repairing equipment across the property. This role plays a key part in ensuring all kitchen and food-service equipment is functioning safely, efficiently, and reliably during major events. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with kitchen equipment, basic electrical and plumbing knowledge, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and break down kitchen equipment and workspaces for events across COTA. Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on kitchen equipment, including electric and propane appliances. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment such as warmers, grills, fryers, refrigeration units, and small appliances. Conduct minor electrical and plumbing tasks as needed to support event operations. Inspect equipment regularly to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with company standards. Assist with identifying equipment needs, replacement parts, and repair priorities. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe storage of tools, equipment, and work areas. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status. Respond promptly to urgent repair requests during events, ensuring minimal downtime. Collaborate with culinary, operations, and event teams to ensure equipment needs are met for each scheduled event. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Previous maintenance or technician experience preferred, especially in a kitchen or food-service environment. Knowledge of general kitchen equipment operation; repair experience a plus. Basic electrical and plumbing understanding required. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor repairs independently. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to work long hours during large events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Special Skills Experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge Safety awareness and problem-solving Basic carpentry skills Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification a plus) CDL a plus but not required Organization and time management Teamwork and communication Adaptability under event-driven pressure Work Environment This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with varying temperatures depending on event location (indoor kitchens, outdoor prep areas, or mobile kitchen units). Noise levels may be moderate to high during event operations. The technician will frequently move through different areas of the venue, including kitchens, storage spaces, and event sites.
