Overview El Charro Authentic Mexican Food in Lake Jackson is seeking a dependable Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining efficient kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and ensuring safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment to help deliver authentic Mexican cuisine to our customers. Responsibilities Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including operating food preparation equipment and slicing ingredients using proper cutting methods Help with food production activities to ensure timely service Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, and maintain cleanliness of workstations, prep areas, and floors Restock ingredients and supplies to keep the kitchen well-organized and prepared for service Support cooks during busy periods by handling manual tasks and heavy lifting as needed Help with opening and closing kitchen duties, ensuring safety standards are followed throughout Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment Perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving supplies as required Experience Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory Basic knife skills and familiarity with slicing techniques are advantageous Ability to operate food preparation equipment safely Knowledge of safety standards in food production and sanitation practices Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing This position offers an opportunity to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to providing authentic Mexican cuisine.
