Job Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as an Assistant Pitmaster/Kitchen Help, where your enthusiasm and culinary curiosity will help craft unforgettable dining experiences. In this energetic role, you will support the pitmaster and kitchen staff in preparing, cooking, and maintaining high-quality dishes that delight our guests. Duties Assist the pitmaster with preparing meats and ingredients for smoking, grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking methods. Support food production by preparing ingredients according to recipes and standards, ensuring consistency across all dishes. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, smokers, ovens, knives, and sanitizing tools. Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment. Help with meal preparation for high-volume production, catering events, or daily service while following recipe specifications precisely. Assist in food handling duties such as portioning, plating, and garnishing dishes to meet presentation standards. Support the dietary department by understanding menu planning needs and assisting with dietary-specific meal preparations when required. Experience Previous dietary aide or food service experience in a restaurant or catering setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential for maintaining hygiene standards. Experience with food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and knife skills will be advantageous. Exposure to fine dining environments or high-volume production kitchens can help you excel in this role. Knowledge of menu planning and recipe adherence ensures consistency in quality and presentation. Background in the food industry with a focus on culinary experience or kitchen operations is desirable. Strong understanding of food handling safety protocols combined with excellent teamwork skills will set you up for success. Pay:
$12.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
