At Roost, hospitality is at the heart of everything we do. As a Back of House Captain, you'll lead by example in the kitchen, ensuring every meal is prepared with consistency, quality, and care. You'll support the Kitchen Manager by coaching Team Members, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and helping execute each shift with excellence. This role is ideal for an experienced kitchen leader who enjoys developing others, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a Back of House Captain, you'll help create a culture of accountability while ensuring every plate that leaves the kitchen reflects Roost's commitment to excellence. Responsibilities Lead and support the back-of-house Team Members throughout each shift. Prepare and cook menu items according to company recipes and quality standards. Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner. Coach, mentor, and develop Team Members while leading by example. Assist with training and onboarding new Team Members. Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures. Communicate effectively with the Kitchen Manager and Front of House Captain to ensure smooth operations. Assist with inventory, prep, stocking, and kitchen organization.
Support the Kitchen Manager with daily kitchen operations and shift execution. Requirements Previous experience as a Line Cook or kitchen leader is required. Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. Ability to coach, motivate, and develop fellow Team Members. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, professional, and committed to operational excellence. Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
