Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. Providence Hall is accepting applications for part-time food services staff to join our team at either our Elementary, Junior High, or High School campus.
Schedule:
School days on Thursdays 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM & Fridays 9:45 AM to 1:30 PM Department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings
Responsibilities:
Monitor students during breakfast and/or lunch. Use the school's positive behavior intervention system to reward students. Assist with food preparation, including portioning, plating, and basic prep work under kitchen staff direction. Serve lunch to students in accordance with posted menus and portion guidelines. Perform general kitchen tasks, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. Wipe and clean tables. Sweep under tables. Assist students during meal times with items needing to be opened. Assist with breaking down the cafeteria tables. Collaborate with colleagues to support the food services department and school in general. Maintain effective communication channels to ensure a collaborative school community. Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Possess an even temper and good work ethic. Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask easily. Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations. Willing to effectively problem-solving as needed. Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools. Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting. Work in a loud, noisy environment around many youth. Obtain a Food Handler's permit within 2 weeks of starting work. Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment. Lift up to 50 lbs., traverse school facility, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency. Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
