In this energetic role, you'll assist with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the sushi chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Duties Assist sushi chefs with ingredient preparation, including slicing fish and vegetables using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Support in assembling sushi rolls and other menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety standards Operate basic kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, slicers, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to uphold food safety management protocols Help with general kitchen cleaning duties, including sanitizing surfaces and disposing of waste appropriately Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service Skills Previous experience in a food industry setting, particularly in restaurant or catering environments Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus Strong understanding of food safety standards and safe food handling procedures Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for fish and vegetables Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, slicers, and refrigeration units Effective communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and maintaining a positive team environment Experience in food service or culinary roles demonstrating attention to detail and cleanliness Join us in creating memorable dining experiences by supporting our talented sushi chefs!
