Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and sanitizing equipment to uphold sanitation standards. Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting with the setup of dining areas. Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as dishwashers, ovens, and food prep tools. Handle food safely by following proper food handling techniques and adhering to food safety management protocols. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to stock deliveries or moving supplies around the kitchen while following manual handling guidelines. Support the team during busy service times by providing efficient food service assistance and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cleaning, or general kitchen support within a restaurant or catering environment. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and food handling regulations. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely. Excellent knife skills for basic prep work when required. Experience with dishwashing and maintaining kitchen cleanliness standards. Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Previous catering or restaurant experience is highly desirable for success in this role.
