WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY MAKE

This is a tipped position. Your pay is a base wage plus a share of the house tip pool, paid out on the hours you work.

Base wage:

$11.00 to $17.50 per hour, depending on experience and where you start on our pay steps.

Tips:

over the last eight weeks, tips at our Brattleboro store have run $8.50 to $10.75 per hour. Credit card tips are paid out weekly. Cash tips are paid out at the end of every shift.

Total expected earnings:

$19.50 to $28.00 per hour. Tips move with the season, the shift and the volume, so they are not guaranteed. Pay reviews twice a year, in April and October, against your job scorecard. We are closed Sundays. Everybody gets Sunday off.

ABOUT THE JOB

Tito's Taqueria is hiring Team Members with evening availability for our Brattleboro store at 898 Putney Road. Team Members are the front line. You serve the food, you talk to the guests, you prep, you clean, and you do the thousand things in between. You are the first person a guest meets and the reason they leave in a better mood than they arrived.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Prepare food. Every Team Member is trained on every item we make, from scratch, to a recipe card. Serve guests. Explain the menu, build the order right, and hand it over looking the way it should. Clean as you go. If you spot the mess, you own the mess. Hold the standard on our seven business drivers: quality, speed, accuracy, hospitality, cleanliness, value and people.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

No restaurant experience required. We train everything.

What we cannot train:

You show up when you said you would. You are steady when it gets loud and fast. You like people — the guests and the teammates both. You take feedback and actually use it.

WHERE THIS GOES

Team Member is the first rung, not the whole ladder: Team Member → Certified Trainer → Shift Leader → SMIT → Store Owner-Operator Certified Trainers train new hires in their own store. Shift Leaders run the floor. SMIT is where you train to run a store. Store Owner-Operators run a location on a profit share and earn well into six figures. Nothing is handed out for time served, and every one of those seats is filled by somebody who started exactly where you would.

THE PHYSICAL SIDE

These are the essential functions of the job, and they can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation: standing for most of a shift, moving between stations in a warm and fast kitchen, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
