DESCRIPTION
Floor Staff We are searching for someone who is enthusiastic and excited to work closely with customers and coworkers in a fun, artistic environment! Customer service experience is a must, as our studio runs similar to a busy restaurant on weekends. Must be confident in giving painting instructions, teaching others how to paint, and able to command a room of customers. This position will be trained to set up and bus tables; take orders for ceramics, drinks, and food; prepare drinks, and food; teach customers how to paint ceramics; how to close the studio at night. Weekend availability is a must.
Hours of work:
Thursdays 4-Close (store closes at 9pm, likely finish time 10-11pm). Fridays 4:30pm-Close (store closes at 11pm, likely finish time 11pm-12am). Potential for more shifts, frequent shift coverage needed. Part time (up to) 20 hours per week (requires flexible working schedule with weekend work).
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To take responsibility for front of house in the studio, providing a vibrant, comprehensive and confident service, engaging with customers, while providing clear & concise painting instructions, and making basic food items, serving beer/wine, and espresso. Setting up and taking reservations, while directing and communicating to colleagues to ensure Painted Plate establishes a reputation as a destination for fun and creativity.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Barista/ Food services To produce drinks and food in a timely manner or to communicate to the person preparing drinks and food during a shift about new orders. To prepare food orders and ask for assistance when required. To stay up to date on specials and seasonal items. Studio responsibilities To ensure all customers are happy, content, and seen to in a friendly and timely manner. Following through with any tasks owner assigns. Creating and maintaining clear communication with managers and other employees. To ensure all displays, counters and studio seating is clean and tidy. Including washing dishes, busing tables, and organizing bisque. To take reservations and follow up with management (if reservation is large or has specific requirements). To set up all reservations and walk ins, to assisting in retrieving their pottery pieces and giving painting instructions. To assist with existing reservations and directing walk in customers to the floor lead to get them seated. To prepare drink, food, and ice cream orders as required. Ability to follow and give directions. To promote excellent standards of customer service. To back stock all pottery and kitchen. To follow setting up and closing down procedures. Customer service / front of house To develop and maintain high levels of customer engagement and customer service levels. To create and maintain a friendly, vibrant and supportive atmosphere. To adhere to cashing up procedures and monetary handling processes. To upsell whenever possible. Other Matters To work closely with other team members to ensure high levels of customer experience. Attend regular team, supervision and committee meetings as required. Undertake relevant training.
Skills:
Mast Certificate and Food Handlers Card required within 2 weeks of hiring Customer Service Experience Strong and demonstrable experience of providing first class customer care Good organizational and multi-tasking skills Experienced at maintaining excellent hygiene and cleanliness in the working environment
