As a Kitchen Helper, you will support chefs and kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and ensuring all safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards Operate basic kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Support meal preparation for various service settings including catering events or restaurant operations Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene are always maintained Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow Adhere strictly to food safety management protocols and recipe adherence during all stages of meal production Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food safety standards in production environments Experience with menu planning, food handling, and meal preparation techniques Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food quality Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members Prior restaurant or catering experience is a plus for understanding fast-paced food service environments Knowledge of culinary techniques and food industry practices enhances performance in this role
