This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent service to guests at events. As a key member of our team, you will support the smooth daily operations of the cafe by prepping basic food items, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the culinary kitchen, and assisting cooks as needed. In addition, the kitchen assistants support the lead chef/ instructor in prepping and executing hands-on and demonstration-style cooking classes. This role involves both behind the scenes prep work and active engagement with participants during classes. The ideal candidate is organized, personable and comfortable working in fast-paced and guest-facing environments. Key Responsibilities Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation for daily operations and special events Provide friendly, professional service during events and functions Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, equipment, and storage spaces Support the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service Follow all food safety and hygiene standards Communicate and collaborate effectively with chefs, event staff, and guests Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions Qualifications & Skills Strong attention to detail and pride in your work Excellent communication and people skills — you'll be interacting with guests regularly Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed Basic knowledge of food handling and safety procedures Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and standing for extended periods Friendly, team-oriented, and eager to learn Preferred Qualifications Previous kitchen or catering experience is an asset, but we're happy to train the right candidate who brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a great attitude.
