King's Way Christian Schools is a private, Christian school dedicated to providing a nurturing and academically enriching environment for students from 12 months through 12th grade; located in beautiful Vancouver, Washington. King's Way partners with families to provide a Christ-centered education for the whole child, leading to life change in each student. We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Food Service Worker to join our pool of on-call Kitchen Assistants. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our main and auxiliary kitchens, ensuring the provision of nutritious meals to students. This is an on-call position that involves meal preparation, service, and cleanup activities. There is no guarantee of hours and work is on an as needed basis.Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and cooking meals Serve food individually or from steam tables & carts Operate a point of sale for meal transactions Proper storage and tracking of inventory Transport food, supplies and equipment to and from kitchens, dining areas, storerooms, and refrigerators Cleaning duties such as washing dishes and utensils, scrubbing floors, walls and counters Stock snack and beverage shelves as needed Adhere to health and safety standards as well as school policies and procedures related to food handling and sanitation Work effectively as a part of a team to ensure smooth operation and effective communication Demonstrate a spirit of cooperation with other departmentsPosition Details:
$17.13 - $19.29 / hour based on experience. Working on-call to fill in peak needs or for staffing shortages. The kitchen runs year round with reduced service during K-12 school breaks.Benefits:

Possession or ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handlers Card Basic food preparation skills; knife skills preferred Comfortable operating a computer for a point of sale and timekeeping 2 years of culinary, or food service experience preferred A personal faith in Jesus Christ, exhibiting Christian character and a commitment to excellence A passion for hospitality and desire to care for students and staff The candidate selected for this position will be required to pass a background check; Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, sit and kneel for extended periods; Reports to the Food Services DirectorBenefits
