Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Kitchen/Deli Assistant to join our team and support our current chef in expanding our clean ingredient grab 'n go operation. This candidate must be available on Sundays and Mondays, and can rotate on the other days of the week. This position will be PT with growth potential to FT. The ideal candidate will have strong food preparation skills, grab 'n go deli experience, care for clean/natural ingredients, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Packaging Prepare grab-and-go items according to recipes and portion standards Assist with assembling salads, sandwiches, bowls, and snacks with a focus on quality and presentation Label and package items accurately, following food safety regulations Operational Support Maintain stock of grab-and-go cases and replenish items as needed Assist with inventory counts, ingredient prep, and restocking supplies Follow daily prep lists and contribute to production efficiency and consistency Quality & Food Safety Uphold health and safety standards, including proper food handling and storage Ensure the cleanliness of all deli areas, equipment, and tools Monitor product freshness and rotate stock following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices Team Collaboration & Growth Support Work closely with the deli manager to support new product launches and process improvements Offer feedback on customer preferences, product demand, and operational flow Be flexible and open to evolving responsibilities as the operation grows Customer Experience Answer product-related questions and offer samples when appropriate Provide friendly and knowledgeable service when interacting with customers
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a deli, café, or food prep role preferred Interest in natural and healthy foods Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods Why Join Us?
