Job overview MiniTown Cafe & Play is seeking a Playground Patrol team member to help create a safe, welcoming play environment for children and families. Position Summary The Playground Patrol is responsible for maintaining a secure, clean, and well-supervised play area at all times. You'll monitor activity in the playground, support guests with friendly directions, maintain toys organized as much as possible, and help ensure safety rules are followed to create a positive experience for every visitor. This is a full-time, onsite role in Fairfield, CT, ideal for someone who is attentive, calm under pressure, and committed to child safety and excellent guest service. Key Responsibilities Supervise the playground area to ensure children are using equipment safely and appropriately. Monitor guest activity and respond to safety concerns, incidents, or rule violations according to established procedures. Provide friendly guidance to families, including basic instructions and expectations for play. Maintain a proactive presence in the play space by staying alert, observing surroundings, and assisting where needed. Escalate serious issues to a supervisor and document relevant details when incidents occur. Maintain the toys and costumes as organized as possible without interfering while children are actively playing. Required Qualifications Ability to actively supervise a busy play environment for extended periods. Strong judgment and calm, responsible decision-making, especially in situations involving children. Clear communication and a guest-focused, respectful attitude with both children and adults. Willingness to follow safety and operational procedures consistently. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, such as standing and moving throughout the play area. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in childcare, youth programs, camps, or family entertainment settings. Familiarity with basic safety practices and incident response in a public environment. Experience handling guest interactions with professionalism and tact.
