Overview New Pond Farm Education Center Lifeguard - Summer Camp 2026 Job Description New Pond Farm Education Center is a dynamic environmental education center located in Redding, CT. Its 102 acre property features an award-winning dairy farm, 2.5 miles of wooded trails, a stream, pond, meadow, pastures, and indoor learning center. " We inspire and educate each generation to become stewards of the land by championing conservation and sustainable farming practices to protect and preserve our natural world." Year-round programming targets five focus areas - environmental education, astronomy, agriculture, local history and the arts. Our summer camp is an outdoor-based program for children ages 4-14. The 2026 camp season runs for 6 weeks beginning on June 22nd. Between 9:30am and 3:30pm, campers will have the opportunity to become naturalists, farmers, gardeners, beekeepers, chefs, artists, treasure hunters, scientists, and more. LIFEGUARDS, AGE

18+, who are excited to work with campers ages 6 - 14 at an outdoor pool. Responsibilities Supervise and guard all activities at the pool. Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress, and administer CPR when needed. Enforce all camp policies, guidelines, and safety procedures. Administer weekly swim checks for campers Assist Camp Staff with pool related responsibilities as needed to remain compliant with state licensing requirements Evaluate conditions and monitor weather reports for safety and direct swimmers out of the pool in dangerous conditions. Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water daily. Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool area. Complete other duties, as assigned Qualifications Experience working as a lifeguard. Experience working with children. Reliable and punctual. Positive and kind demeanor. Patient, supportive and understanding with children. Strong work ethic and personal integrity Ability to adapt to changes in the routine or plan for the day. Able to work as part of a team, sharing responsibility for the planning and execution of the program. Open to new experiences and receiving feedback. Embraces hands-on learning and is willing to get wet and/or dirty throughout the day. Physical Demands Physically capable of spending prolonged periods in the water and able to lift 50lbs Able to engage in sustained physical activity throughout the day in all weather including heat, high humidity and rain. Requirements Current Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid/AED certification through Red Cross or other OEC approved. Complete criminal background check in accordance with State Licensing. Provide documentation of a current health exam.
