This part time position monitors, controls and prevents situations hazardous to the health and safety of pool patrons through alert, responsive observations. Execute rescue procedures promptly and efficiently when necessary. Work is performed under general supervision. Essential Job Duties The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Observe and monitor pool patrons; enforce pool rules. Provide first aid care for minor injuries. Regulate activities which may threaten pool patrons or property. Make water rescues in various situations. Provide resuscitative care (CPR) and Basic Life Support until EMS personnel arrive. Administer oxygen, perform CPR, and use an Automatic External Defibrillator as required Assist with routine facility maintenance. Assist with swim lesson instructions. Complete physical and skills training as assigned on a daily basis. Ability to work some nights, holiday's and weekends Must be available to work four (4) mandatory special events (July 4th, Tree Lighting, Holiday Parade, and St Patrick's Parade). Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis. Minimum Qualifications High School graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
