Job Description

BASIC SUMMARY
Provide exceptional service to members and guests at the pool commensurate with the demands and expectations of the Club & Spa. Greets guests at the pool area, replace towels in all areas of club as necessary, sets up and tears down chairs and umbrellas. Maintain the cleanliness and physical appearance of pool area including the deck, boardwalk and safety in the pools.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor pool check in window. Check in members and guests and handout towels. Distribute and control towel inventory. Assist with laundry duties. Adhere to all pool safety standards, including safety procedures for adverse weather conditions. Greets guests arriving at the pool. Set up, refresh, and tear down chairs and umbrellas. Assist in set-up and tear down for poolside functions for all events. Clean, maintain, and position pool furniture and umbrellas. Pick up trash and dirty towels and reposition chairs throughout shift. Apply excellent guest relations skills when interacting with members and guests. Performs all duties in a timely and professional manner Turn in lost and found items throughout shift. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of pool towels throughout shift, obtaining clean towels from the laundry and returning dirty towels. Maintain cleanliness of pool and spa locker rooms. Restock any linens from the pool and spa locker rooms. Assist in any general cleaning as required. Enforce all related pool rules in a polite, professional manner. Ensure guest safety by enforcing all rules. Assist Food and Beverage team by bussing. Attend all meetings and service training sessions as required. Report all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions to the Security Department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
One-year previous experience in hospitality industry preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Fluent in English (read, write and speak). Ability to speak a second language is an asset. Work under pressure and handle difficult situations. Deal with customers in a professional manner with patience, tact and diplomacy. Exemplary customer-service orientation and outstanding hospitality skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work weekends and holidays, preferable. Schedule vacations during the off-season months.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - ABILITY TO
Grasp, lift, push/pull, carry or transport up to 50 lbs. Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs. Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms. Stay in the sun and endure hot weather conditions for prolonged periods. Stand and walk for length of scheduled shift. Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly. Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound. Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
