Certified Lifeguard (Immediate Openings) - Part-Time, Year Round

Certified Lifeguards We are looking for responsible, energetic individuals who are seeking flexible hours in a fun, fast paced environment. Lifeguarding requires professional and dependable individuals. If you are enthusiastic, love people and the water - this could be the perfect place for you. Must be able to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Able to create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Carmel Swim Academy policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs as a leader and role model for other staff members and patrons. Shows up for work in the correct uniform on time and ready to work. Knows and practices all emergency procedures and responds accordingly, which includes attending all staff meetings and in-service trainings. Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the aquatic area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 15 years of age.

Certifications:

CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. American Red Cross Lifeguard, StarGuard Elite, and Ellis certifications will be accepted. Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness. Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with CSA standards.

SCHEDULING

Schedules are done on a monthly basis. Availabilities are given for each month. Lifeguards are responsible for turning in their availability on time in order to be put on the schedule. STARTING PAY RATES LEVEL 1

$12 Individuals with less than one year of experience. Level 2: $14 Individuals with at least 1 year of experience Level 3: $16 (must meet all criteria listed below) Individuals with 2 or more years of experience. Must be able to be scheduled for at least 15 hours per week on a consistent basis.

Positions Available Part Time:

10-14 Hours (candidates would start at Level 1 or 2 for pay)

Part Time Plus:

15-25 hours (candidates would start at Level 3 for pay)
