Perry Meridian High School Lifeguard Position Purpose Monitor and supervise the pool facilities, enforcing policies and procedures. Essential Job Functions Monitor and enforce pool rules and policies. Keep facility clean and organized. Know facility's emergency action plan, and how to engage it. Perform life saving duties when needed. Answer patrons questions and follow up on requests. Assist with the opening and closing the facility as needed. Attend all scheduled meetings Maintain a good level of physical fitness. Responds to medical emergencies; performs first aid and uses proper lifesaving equipment and techniques. Provides customer service to patrons to include the handling of customer conflict and complaints. Assists with the general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms. Equipment Travel Requirements Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Pay Rates $14.00 an hour. Work Schedule Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 to 8:30 More hours could be available with other activities if wanted Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must possess good oral and written communication skills, as well as quality people skills. Knowledge of the schools pool rules and policies. Ability to adapt to emergency situations. Ability to swim. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Seldom = Less than 25% Occasional = 26 to 50% Often = 51 to 75% Very Frequent = Greater than 75% Physical Requirement Percentage of Time Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
