Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Ice Rink Attendant at MIT's Johnson Ice Rink and be a part of a lively, engaging, and safe skating environment! In this role, you will assist with the smooth operation of the ice rink, provide exceptional guest services, and promote a fun and secure atmosphere for visitors of all ages. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant recreation setting, combining hospitality, safety, and community engagement. Duties Greet guests warmly, providing excellent customer service and information about rink activities and safety rules Monitor ice conditions and ensure the rink surface is safe for skating Enforce safety policies, including proper use of skating equipment and adherence to rink rules Assist skaters with equipment rental, fitting, and basic skating tips to enhance their experience Assist with managing event setups, including organizing skating lessons, themed skate nights, or special events at the venue Respond promptly to emergencies or conflicts by applying conflict management skills and first aid/CPR when necessary Skills Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor Experience in events management or coordinating recreational activities Ability to handle conflicts effectively while maintaining a positive environment Knowledge of safety protocols, first aid procedures, and CPR certification preferred Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting (skating equipment or supplies) Excellent communication skills suitable for public speaking or providing instructions to diverse audiences

Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 per week
