Job Description
POSITION
The Full-time Lifeguard and Swim Lesson Coordinator role combines administrative leadership with active deck safety. This dual-responsibility position ensures the aquatic facility runs a high-quality instructional program while maintaining a secure environment for all patrons.Key Responsibilites:
Supervise, schedule, and evaluate swim instructors; assign instructors to swim groups, manage private swim lessons, maintain clean and safe pool facilities, test water chemistry, and perform facility opening and closing procedures. Community Services We offer versatile educational, cultural, recreational and social enrichment programs to youth, adults and seniors. Located in Cape Elizabeth High School is the Donald L RichardsCommunity Pool and Fitness Center where we conduct a variety of structured and unstructured programs to members and guests. The facility is open seven days a week. This position would be required to work Tuesday - Saturday. Position Overview Under the direction of the Pool & Fitness Center Coordinator, the lifeguard is charged with effectively and safely supervising the pool environment to prevent drowning and injuries by providing safety instructions, recognizing and responding to emergencies, and rendering CPR and first aid in accordance with the policies established by the Red Cross. Position Requirements- 18 years of age or older
- Swim at least 300 yards
- Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard
- Communicate effectively with facility stakeholders
- Extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to obtain Red Cross lifeguard certification within 14 days of hire Application Process Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and completed application.
Pay:
