Job Description
Job Summary Saginaw Township Community Schools are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Lifeguard at Sherwood Elementary School. This part-time position involves ensuring the safety of all students and staff during swim activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong swimming skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Responsibilities Monitor the swimming area to ensure the safety of all participants. Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment. Provide immediate assistance and first aid in case of emergencies. Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool and surrounding areas. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding safety protocols. Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings. Assist in teaching swim lessons as needed. Report any incidents or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly. Requirements Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification. Red Cross First Aid for the Professional Rescuer Certification. Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water safety practices. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations. Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Must be at least 16 years of age.
