Part-time Temporary (15-25 hours/week)Position Summary:
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion in students, faculty, and staff. The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining swimmer safety, preventing accidents, and minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations in the pool area. Responsibilities include keeping the deck area clean, responding to emergencies, administering first aid as needed, maintaining records, assisting with pool maintenance, providing excellent customer service, promoting Fitness & Recreation Center programs, and attending in-service training sessions and staff meetings.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of all swimmers and prevent hazardous situations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck area. Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid as needed. Perform record-keeping duties and assist with pool maintenance. Deliver outstanding customer service to all patrons. Help promote programs offered at the Fitness & Recreation Center. Attend all required in-service trainings and staff meetings.Required Qualifications:
Must be a current certified lifeguard (evidence of certification must be provided). American Red Cross Certification in First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguarding. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more with assistance. Ability to hear and see cries for help. Ability to swim 300 yards.Additional Experiences Considered:
