Job Description
Lifeguard The Salvation Army USA Central Territory United States, Missouri, Bourbon 1466 Highway North (Show on map) Mar 30, 2026 The Salvation Army Midland Division Camp Mihaska located in Bourbon, Missouri, is looking for 4 Lifeguards. We are looking for individuals ages 18 or older to fill these positions. This is a full-time, temporary summer position that will start on June 01, 2026, and will end July 31, 2026. The pay is $375 per week.
Position Summary:
Provide a safe environment at the pool and waterfront by adhering to and enforcing water safety rules.Essential Duties:
Work under the direction of the Waterfront Director and Head Lifeguard. Prepare, lead, or assist in all pool and waterfront program activities, including meals, as directed. Provide guidance and discipline to maintain a safe environment at the pool. Adhere to and enforce camp policies and procedures. Report maintenance problems to the Waterfront Director. Report camper and staff issues to the Divisional Youth Secretary. Assist with camper registration. Work closely with Leadership to maintain a safe and loving environment for campers and staff. Maintain confidentiality and comply with The Salvation Army Safe From Harm guidelines.Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
An individual of the Christian faith who has a strong personal relationship with the Lord, attends church on a regular basis, and a desire to lead others spiritually is required. Basic First Aid and Life Saving/Life Guarding Certifications, required. Team player and self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision, required. Understand and support the goals and objectives of The Salvation Army Camping program. Above average communication and leadership skills with the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.Lifeguard Certification Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
Capable of actively participating in all camp program activities. Frequently lifts 25 pounds, occasionally lifts to 50 pounds and moves 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart. Most work will be outdoors and in extreme heat during in the summer. The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
