Join the Keene Parks & Recreation Team as a Certified Lifeguard this summer! This is a great opportunity to earn a paycheck, build your resume, and make a real impact on children and families in our community. To qualify, you must hold a current lifeguard certification or be willing to get certified before the pools open for the summer. Training support is available. Duties include supervising pool activities and enforcing safety rules, preventing accidents and responding to emergencies, assisting with swimming lessons (instruction and support), and helping to maintain clean and sale pool facilities, equipment, and supplies. Pay rates range from $14- $15 per hour, depending on experience and assigned duties. Hours are Monday-Friday 1pm-7pm and Saturday and Sunday 12pm-6pm, with additional hours scheduled for swimming lessons Monday-Thursday, 9am-11:30am. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week and could change based on pool rentals and lesson schedules. All applicants must be at least 15 years old and applicants aged 18 and older are required to pass a Criminal Background Check. Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with our community. We also have leadership opportunities available for Head Lifeguards this summer.
