Make a Splash with Your Next Job! Are you an early riser who loves the water and cares about safety? Not an early riser? We've got you covered - there are afternoon shifts available too! Join our team as a Lifeguard and help create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for our members! As a Lifeguard, you'll do more than watch the water—you'll be a hero in the making. From monitoring pool activities and performing rescues to leading swim lessons and keeping things running smoothly, you'll play a vital role in making every swim a great experience. What You'll Do Ensure that all policies and safety protocols are being followed during assigned shifts. Enforce pool safety rules. Maintain constant surveillance of individuals in the water and in the pool area. Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of individuals in the event of an emergency. Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Do stand rotation during regular shifts. Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service Perform chem checks according to scheduled rotations. Ensure that all chem checks are carried out correctly and as scheduled or needed during assigned shifts. Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties and ensure that all cleaning duties are completed thoroughly and according to guidelines during each assigned shift. Maintain a working knowledge of the pump room and normal equipment readings. Check all equipment and readings to ensure it is operating according to set standards and protocols. Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Maintain and uphold all of the cleaning and maintenance procedures. Respond to questions and concerns from members when the Aquatics Director or Head Guard is not available. Be visible and available to members, doing all you can to make their experience at the JCC a positive one. Resolve member concerns in an exemplary manner. What We're Looking For Strong swimming and water safety skills. Ability to stay alert and act quickly in emergencies. Positive attitude and great customer service skills. Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications preferred (we can help you get certified!). Why You'll Love It Here The JCC isn't just a workplace—it's a community.
