Our vibrant intellectual community draws students from all over the city, admission to the school is competitive, and both our parents and students value achievement and community. The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a Part-Time Lifeguard for its Athletic Center swim program to start in September 2026 for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday shifts. The School's Athletic Center is open to the community for recreational use during early mornings, evenings, and weekends (September through July) and offers a variety of membership options for adults and children. Berkeley Carroll is committed to providing educational programs that engage, challenge, and foster fundamental swimming skills. The lifeguard maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the pool deck and surrounding areas. They will create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes swimmer safety in accordance with Berkeley Carroll policies and procedures. Responsibilities Ensures timely opening and closing of the pool area, according to scheduled hours of operation. Follows opening and closing checklists and procedures. Ensures the safety of all individuals in and around the pool areas. Enforces all policies regarding use of pool and pool areas. Creates a welcoming and safe environment for swimmers. Maintains effective, positive relationships with other aquatic staff members. Understands and regularly reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately, providing emergency care as needed. Follows Athletic Center policies and procedures. Maintains pool cleanliness and safety by monitoring chemical balance, vacuuming, and performing general facility upkeep. Qualifications Lifeguard Certification with

Lifeguarding certification Schedule This is a part-time position with the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week, based on availability and scheduling needs. Applicants must be available to work some or all of the following shifts: Monday 3

  • 7 pm Potential substitution for weekend and weekday shifts.
