Job Description Position Summary Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons using Kresge Pool by maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-supervised aquatic environment. This position requires availability Monday through Sunday, varying on departmental needs. Responsibilities Monitoring pool activities, weather conditions, enforcing facility policies and safety rules, providing first aid and CPR when needed, and responding to aquatic emergencies. Supervising patron check in, completing daily opening and closing procedures, maintaining medical and first aid supplies, and assisting in the overall operation of the facility. Support a variety of programs, including open swim, varsity team practices, physical education classes, and more. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities Hold current Lifeguarding and CPR certifications, that are accepted by Vassar College. All certifications must remain valid through, please note NYS outlines that CPR certifications are valid for 1 year only. Vassar does offer recertifications for employees once they are hired. In Service Training is required by all hired staff and will be organized upon hiring.
Pay Rate:
$17 per hour
