Job Description

YMCA of Greater Cincinnati is hiring a Swim Lesson Coordinator-ME Lyons Ymca in Cincinnati, OH. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides day-to-day coordination of swim lessons at ME Lyons YMCA and Clermont County YMCA. Provides a clean, safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for our members and guests while they are using the Y aquatic program area. Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner. Actively teaches swim lessons and/or lifeguards as necessary. Assists with recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating swim lesson instructors. Assists with reviews and evaluation of staff performance - as well as, develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete. Schedules instructors to ensure complete coverage. Assists with the ongoing maintenance and recording of pool chemicals and pool area - making sure to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations are met. Manages all daily statistics and records. Knows, understands and consistently applies all YMCA/Aquatic policies, rules, regulations including emergency procedures. Completes related reports as required. Reviews as needed. Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed. Reports any problems to the maintenance department and/or Aquatic Director Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Attends staff meetings and training as required. Provides ongoing in-service training and safety checks with the swim lesson instructors to assure the safest environment possible. Maintain appropriate certifications, including, but not limited to; Lifeguard, CPR Pro, Basic First Aid, Emergency Oxygen Administration requirements. Work with direct supervisor sixty (60) days before certifications are set to expire to ensure requirements are kept up-to-date. Assumes all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 18 years of age. 4 Year College Degree or its equivalent required. Two (2) or more years of experience teaching and/or organizing aquatic programs. Current YMCA lifeguarding or American Red Cross Lifeguarding and obtain YMCA Lifeguarding Certification within 60 days of hire.
Certifications:
CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Administration. Complete all association-required trainings within the deadlines set by Human Resources. Ability to maintain certification - level of physical and mental readiness. Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards. Ability to exercise mature judgment and tact and possess strong knowledge of aquatics. Ability to work well with members, staff and volunteers and possess good written/oral communication skills and organizational skills
