Title:
Lifeguard Objective:
To implement all water safety policies and procedures. Supervise members and guests in and around the swimming pool.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety. Enforces rules of conduct at the pool. Communicates effectively with team members and management regarding safety concerns and incidents. Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the Aquatics Management or instructors. Employs only those methods and teaching techniques outlined and approved by the American Red Cross. Performs required pool pre-opening and closing duties, maintains amenities in, and cleanliness of, changing rooms, bathrooms and showers. Checks safety equipment and first aid supplies, notifies Aquatics Management of issues. Participates in pool safety programs and risk management. Adequate knowledge of and training in pool chemistry, rescue and surveillance techniques, CPR/AED and blood-borne pathogens.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to swim proficiently and perform physically demanding rescues. Must be at least 16 years old. Strong observational skills and the ability to remain alert for extended periods. Must hold current certification in
American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a lifeguard or in a similar aquatic safety role. Experience in customer service role. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Thank you for your time!
