Maintains the health and safety of all patrons in the

Recreation Center Natatorium Supervision Received:

Receives supervision from the

Recreation Supervisor and Head Lifeguards Essential Functions:

Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean swimming pool environment Responsible for performing necessary rescues on any person needing assistance in the pool Responsible for light cleaning and maintenance of the pool, steam room, sauna, and locker room areas of the Recreation Center Responsible for maintaining personal fitness to be able to perform the above functions Responsible for performing light maintenance and cleaning on the pools and pool areas

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be available to work 5:00-11:00am or 6:30am-12:00pm or 12:00pm-5:00pm. We are not hiring for shifts after 5:00pm. Must possess a current Lifeguard Training certification to include life guarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and first aid skills Must be able to complete all swimming skills in correspondence with the life guarding exam Good interpersonal skills to communicate with the public and co-workers Knowledgeable in emergency action plans Ability to work a flexible schedule A self-starter-ability to look for jobs that need to be done

Education:

One year of high school completed

Experience:

Previous experience in lifeguarding preferred

Other:

Water Safety Instructor certification preferred

Work Environment:

Functions will be performed in an environment that will cause exposure to light chemical substances such as chlorine

Physical Requirements:
